Owerri, the capital city of Imo State, Biafraland, witnessed a large gathering of family members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), as they converged for their first meeting of the year 2020. It was held on Sunday 2nd February 2020 under the coordinatorship of Mazi Abraham, the State Coordinator.

He welcomed all, congratulating them for making it into the new year. He equally enjoined them to put behind, the events of the past especially in 2019 and get refocused. The meeting commenced with prayers, goodwill and decrees of success in the struggle in the new year. He thanked all the state unit/zonal coordinators for their sacrifices and efforts in 2019. They were also encouraged never to relent in the restoration struggle for their labor of love for the freedom of their fatherland must never ever go unrewarded.

Meanwhile, concrete arrangements were put in place to ensure  hitch-free attendance of members to the burial of the parents of the IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, scheduled for Friday 14th February 2020, at Afara-ukwu Ibeku kingdom, Umuahia, Abia State. It is of note to also state here that the Imo State Chapter, had earlier paid a condolence visit to the bereaved family with a promise to register it's presence in the burial.
