Nigeria: Separation Remains The Only Option--Yoruba Activist

It is pure wickedness for one to pretentiously keep sealed lips in the face of suffocation and death, this acts of inhumanity are exactly what the Fulani led government of Nigeria is presently unleashing on the citizens. Many are dying as a result of evil policies and reckless leadership style being institutionalized at the detriment of the people.

Encouragingly, the Yoruba nation has finally come to terms with the truth that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has been saying for years in his radio broadcasts about the Fulani agenda lined up against every other tribe. The Yorubas have resolved to take the bull by the horns through their declared intention to secede from Nigeria and open their territorial borders to allow the inflow of food and other necessary materials for the welfare of their people.

This declaration by the Yorubas was contained in a communiqué signed by one Mogaji Gboyega Adejumo, which unequivocally states:

“Today in Buhari's Nigeria, the ship of state has veered dangerously off course, and heads almost irreversibly towards jagged rocks of destruction. Insecurity has reached such an abyss that hundreds of people are kidnapped in broad daylight with impunity.

“The Yorùbas are convinced that Nigeria is on the verge of a catastrophic calamity, of potentially greater magnitude than either the internecine conflict of 1967 to 1970 or the brazen disenfranchisement of 1993.

“The Yorubas announce their exhaustion with this government’s obsession, lies and denials of truths and facts. Farmers-herders clashes are denied despite photographic evidence of massacres and eyewitness reports of mayhem. Terrorists roam the land in the garb of herdsmen, killing, raping, kidnapping and maiming, with little or no reaction from constituted authorities. A high-ranking government official declares that bandits are not criminals".

“The forests of the Yorùbas are sacred, untouchable and out-of-bounds to terrorists. May the curses of all our forefathers hold to account all who attempt to cede even one inch of our forests to any ranch or settlement for the use of foreigners, despoilers, ruiners, ravagers and desecraters of our forests".

“The Yorubas distance themselves from the oft-repeated untruth that ‘Nigeria's unity is non-negotiable’. This is nothing but falsehood. Be it known now and ever — ‘The unity of Nigeria is highly negotiable.’ If we cannot be happy together, then let us find peace and joy, apart. Nigeria can only remain Nigeria if all parties agree to deal equitably with each other,.” he said.

Following this, a Yoruba activist that recently emerged with this campaign, Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho, has reiterated in a meeting held with key Yoruba personalities in Lagos, that Yoruba is henceforth not part of Nigeria.  In his word, “After this discussion, we will hold a meeting and open our borders so that rice, food and other things can enter easily. Enough is enough! All our borders that the Nigerian government closed, we are telling them we are no longer under them, we will go and open the borders".

He continued, “Our ports in Lagos here are all run by Fulanis, we do not want them from now on. Even at our airports, we no longer want the Fulani leaders there. Whatever the government wants to do, they should do it. We are ready. Some people say Yoruba people are not united, we are!

If you want to try us, touch one of us," Igboho added.

This very move should actually serve as an awakening to other ethnic nationalities that are entrapped in Nigeria. They should as well arise, join the Biafrans and Yorubas to claim their freedom now, or remain silent and die in slavery.

The game is over, Nigeria is gone!
