  The Military Invasion of IPOB lawyer’s Residence- Court Re-adjourns Hearing


The case instituted at the Federal High Court, Awka, Anambra State, regarding the bloody military invasion of the home of Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the lead counsel to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Mazi Nnamdi Kanu on the 2nd December 2019, came up for hearing on Monday 19th July, 2021. 

Recall that on the 2nd of December 2019, that Nigeria Security Forces carried out a bloody assault/ carnage at the ancestral home of the lead Counsel of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor hails from Oraifite in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State. This murderous attack resulted in the brutal murder of four innocent and unarmed civilians, with over thirty (30) homes consequently razed down. Also affected were five buildings and a Bar.  In that mayhem, properties/valuables worth fortunes were equally destroyed and vandalized.

 In another failed attempt to assassinate the IPOB lawyer, the joint team of the Nigerian Security Forces made up of the Soldiers, officials of the Department of Security Services (DSS), Special Police Force and Operatives of NSCDC murderously invaded his ancestral home for the second time, on the 6th of June 2021 and gruesomely murdered his Personal Assistant, Mr. Samuel Okoro and his lifeless body set ablaze. Three other members of the IPOB lead counsel's domestic staff were abducted and are still detained and kept incommunicado till date. 

This case has since been filed at the Federal High Court Abuja  and fixed for hearing on Thursday 22nd July 2021..On Monday 19th July 2021, the Presiding Judge at the Federal High Court, Awka, Anambra State, again adjourned the case to 28th September 2021, to enable him hear and deliver the judgement expeditiously. 

According to the Judge, the applicants whom he commended for perseverance, has really endured with the court over the previous adjournments and pleaded that he should still exercise some more patience with him. He expressed regrets that this date was given off-records otherwise he would have advised for another date before hands after vacation.
