Anambra Guber Election Of November 2021 And What Chief Willie Obiano Must Do

The second tenure of the incumbent Executive Governor of Anambra State, Chief Williams Obiano, will eventually elapse this year 2021, with a fresh election scheduled for November 6th to determine his successor. Chief Williams Obiano has been in the Anambra State Government House, Awka, since 2014 and would be vacating the seat of power for his successor early next year 2022 and that is only if the politicians have their way.

Similarly, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), ably led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, had warned that the scheduled November 6th Anambra State gubernatorial election will not hold and had declared to all electoral officers, candidates and political parties to halt every electioneering campaigns until their “3R” demands  are wholesomely met by the states and the federal government of Nigeria, including the international community. Such demands are the:

R1) Release of Nnamdi Kanu, the IPOB leader.

R2.) Release of all innocent detained Biafrans across Nigeria.

R3.) Restoration of the sovereign state of Biafra.

On this note, if election could not hold on the 6th of November 2021 in Anambra State and not rescheduled or the ban lifted by the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), then Chief Williams Obiano would most likely continue serving the state as an interim governor for the time being provided that IPOB allows him.

Decision making in the South-East region has since entered into the hands of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB). They make decisions and the people strictly obey because they seem to bear the people's interests and pains at heart. If they could totally and effectively prohibit elections in the whole of Biafra region, then nobody can dare say no if they decide changing the seating government without elections being conducted. The reason is that IPOB is the practical definition of democracy not as it is practiced in Nigeria but as it was originally defined by Abraham Lincoln, the father of democracy many years ago in the United States of America.

On the one hand, Nnamdi Kanu who was unlawfully abducted in Kenya and extraordinarily renditioned to Nigeria since 19th of June 2021, is still being detained at the facility of the Nigeria Department of State Security Services (DSS), Abuja, and is currently facing a concocted trial of treasonable felony. He was even accused of  jumping bail in 2017 whereas he only escaped to save his life after the Nigerian army invaded his home, killing over twenty eight (28) of his supporters.

Additionally, over 2,500 innocent members of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), had since 2014, been shot at and killed instantly by the Nigerian soldiers, police and other sister forces. In the same vein, over 5,000 have been unlawfully abducted and detained and are yet to be released from across detention facilities in Nigeria. Amongst the detainees, no fewer than 2,500 of them had died due to severe torture, inadequate feeding and lack of medical care. These injustices all together, gave birth to the Mondays "Ghost Town" protests previously activated in the South-East region for the government to retrace its steps and listen to the masses.

So, it is imperative that Chief Willie Obiano locates the nearest zone or unit of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), and register as a member under oath, should he want to continue as Interim Governor of the State. This is because elections henceforth cannot be guaranteed in Biafraland until otherwise stated. Only registering as a member of the IPOB family will facilitate his continuity until the demands of IPOB are met. Nobody will definitely assume office if the ban by IPOB leadership is not lifted.

Moreover, Chief Willie Obiano has to retrace his steps and make amends towards his approach to the youths and issues affecting us all, otherwise he will be seen as unfit for the position.

The issue of the military or court taking over the governorship seat if rendered vacant should not even be conceived as that will never ever happen in both Anambra State and Biafraland.
