The Biafra Quest and the Unconscionable Incarceration of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu

Nnamdi Kanu

The United Nations human rights organization, taking a selective stance in the application and enforcement of their resolution and charter breeds injustice. This is graceless of an institutional world body esteemed to be a powerful and uncompromised institution for the enforcement of equity, fairness and justice. This is to remind the office of high commission and the United Nations human rights organization that on the 10 December, 1984 General Assembly Resolution 39/46, there was Human right instruments called, CORE INSTRUMENT.

Therein, the Convention against torture, curelty, discriminative and inhuman treatment or subjugation was adopted. The state parties of this convention resolutely adopted considering in accordance with the principles of the charter of the united Nations, the recognition of the equal and inalienable rights of all persons across the globe. It also laid the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world. Recognizing that these rights derived and embedded in the inherent dignity of the human person. Considering the obligation of each states under the charter, in particularly article 55, to promote universal respect for, and observance of human rights and fundamental freedom.

Having regard for article 5 of the universal declaration of human rights and article 7 of international covenant on civil and political rights, both of which provide that no one shall be subjected to torture or cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment or punishment, Biafrans are asking questions to the office of United Nations Human right, office of the high commission,

Dear sir/ma

What is the crime of the Biafrans that they were excluded and trampled upon and deprived her citizens the right for freedom? Does Biafra not belong and form part of the members of the universe that deserves right for freedom?

Why will the Universal declaration be selective when it concerns the people of Biafra, why do the International covenant and resolution defend and protect some persons, in the exclusion of other persons?

What is the crime of the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu? We demand an answer from the dignified and esteemed institution like United Nations Human right organization.

We make it a task to the human right organization to prove it is not selective in fighting to protect justice, equity and peace to the universal world by making a decisive efforts to persuade Nigerian government a member of the United Nations to respect the law that discharged and acquitted our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

The United Nations Human Rights Organisation should also have regards to the declaration is for the protection of all persons from being subjected to torture and other cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment.

And further adopted by general Assembly on the 9 December 1975, desiring to make more effective the struggle against torture and marginalisation of persons internationally, We want to draw  the attention of the United Nations Human right organizations to their convention resolution of 10 December 1984.

Article 2.1: Each state party shall take effective legislative, administrative, judicial or other measure to prevent acts of torture in any territory under it's jurisdiction. This convention which was entered into force on 26 June 1987.

The Nigerian court of appeal on 13 November 2022 discharge and acquitted our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, yet Nigerian Federal government under Muhammadu Buhari and attorney general of the federation Abubakar Malami refused to let him go, and continue subjecting our leader under torture, inhuman and degrading treatment in dungeon of the Department of Security Service DSS. The subjection of our leader to mental torture and degrading treatments are reasons the United Nations human rights will not be partial in the law they instituted, the law shouldn't be selective only when it concerns Africa or Biafran.

The global family of the Indigenous People Of Biafra(IPOB) are calling on the United Nations human rights to use her good office, with respect to her laws, resolutions and charters to stand  and protect the right of every member of  each State and the world at large . The United Nations should lay emphasis with stringent sanctions, the need to respect universal declarations and international covenant of an Esteemed body like itself, and other human right organizations.

The UN working committee have asked Nigeria government to free Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and pay him damages yet Abubakar Malami (the Adolf Hitler of Nigerian government) has failed to adhere to this, thus need for timeous and efficable actions is required.
