Urgent Call For Action: Denial Of Proper Medical Care To A Prisoner Of Conscience, Nnamdi Kanu

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, a prisoner of conscience is in urgent need of proper medical care. He has been denied of his routine medication for nearly two weeks, as reported by his lawyers on January 9th 2023.

Biafrans are a very formidable people, always liking to do their things according to the rules and respects of Law. But, at this point, the silence of the world on the Biafra case has become a height of injustice against the people of Biafra. If not so, how can a world respected institution like Amnesty International who on the 16 July 2010 made a very mandatory headline against the government of Indonesia on the arbitrary maltreatment and torture of a prisoner of conscience, Johan Teterrisa who was seriously ill over the cruelty and torture from the police, now suddenly has become mute over a similar case involving a Blackman, A Biafran to be specific.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is in a similar situation as Kanu's lead counsel recently gave an update of his client's health which the operatives of Nigeria Department of State Security (DSS) have refused to give relevant attention,

It is worthy to note that same nonchalant and wicked behavior by the DSS, led to need of providing a sum of one million Naira to the force, by the legal counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, the Indigenous People Of Biafra(IPOB)'s leader.

This was to ensure a good treatment of the IPOB leader and the learned men's client, but the money was rejected by the DSS, and yet have continued to subject the IPOB leader to inhuman tortures and degrading treatments.

To these, the Amnesty International have never made any yearling steps to condemn this injustice against the IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, and other Biafrans locked unjustly in several prison facilities in Nigeria.

Biafrans are reminding Amnesty International that it was similar injustice against Johan Teterrisa that made Amnesty International call on world authorities to use their different languages and write to the Indonesia government against the violation of Johan Teterrisa rights. But, the present violation against the rights of a Biafran freedom fighter has been unimportant to the honorable members of the UN human rights and Amnesty International.

It is also a reminder that Biafrans are civil and formidable in their conducts, Their leader means more than millions to every Biafran citizen.

We are writing to the members of the world authorities, that nothing can be exchanged with Biafra. If Amnesty International will stand tall against the injustice meted on Johan Teterrisa, why is the rights of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu of Biafra being trapped upon?

Whether one is white or black, if we are to make the world a better place, it is pertinent to admit that "an injustice against one is an injustice against all".
