Peter Obi Is A Fraud Parading As Messiah, I Can’t Wait To Meet Him In Court--Deji Insist

The ongoing dispute arises from a legal demand letter dated August 26, 2025, sent by Peter Obi's attorney, Alex Ejesieme (SAN), accusing activist and lawyer Deji Adeyanju of consistently making false and defamatory remarks on platforms such as X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook since 2022.

Obi's legal team claims that Adeyanju depicted him as "corrupt, fraudulent, and a religious bigot," including specific allegations that Obi misappropriated Anambra State funds for personal family businesses, attempted to bribe Adeyanju during a private meeting, and manipulated religion to influence voters in the 2023 presidential election.

Additionally, they referenced Adeyanju labeling Obi as the "leader of a mob" and "a scum," which they assert has harmed his reputation both nationally and internationally. Obi's lawyers have demanded that Adeyanju remove all defamatory posts, issue a public apology on social media and in three national newspapers, and comply within seven days—or face a lawsuit for aggravated damages, an injunction, and legal expenses.

This situation intensifies a protracted conflict, where Adeyanju has been a prominent critic of Obi, recently asserting that the aggressive online conduct of Obi's "Obidient" supporters has jeopardized his presidential campaign and that it is "too late" for Obi to ascend to the presidency of Nigeria. In reaction, Adeyanju ridiculed the letter on Facebook, branding Obi a "fraud masquerading as a messiah" and a "religious bigot," while expressing his anticipation for a courtroom confrontation: "I can’t wait to finally meet him in court."

He accused Obi of hypocrisy, recalling Obi's previous characterization of activist Omoyele Sowore as a "blackmailer-in-chief," and linked it to a separate lawsuit Adeyanju filed against Obi's aide, Serah Ibrahim, for allegedly defaming his spouse. The dispute has ignited online discussions, with some perceiving Obi's actions as an infringement on free speech, while others defend it as a necessary measure against libel. Although no court filing has been made yet, the exchange has gained significant traction on X, amplifying the "fuss."
