TRUE-STORY: How An Adulterous Private Affair Led To Massacre Of Almost An Entire Community In Vom, Plateau State

On the new year's eve of 2026, the free world and emasculated Christians in Nigeria were apprised of yet another massacre of villagers in Vom, Plateau State, by the vile marauding Fulani killer herdsmen. The attack according to reports claimed the lives of over a dozen people, including children who were mutilated beyond recognition.

What these reports seemingly failed to enhance was the controversial chain of events which led to this callous slaughtering of villagers and destruction of their community by invaders of the night.

A well-informed source shared a first-hand account with Family Writers Press International and the chain of events that culminated to the attack.

So, it turned out that in that very victimized community, a married woman was involved in sexual affair with a marauding Fulani herdsman whom according to the story, alongside his herds and peers had stayed in the community for a couple of months.

The unholy affair secretly endured for weeks- months until late December 2025 when the affair was discovered.  The family of the adulterous woman upon discovering through community hearsays, decided to confront the herdsman for committing sacrilege against the family and traditions of the community. The eldest man of the woman's family led the initiative to inquire and confront the herdsman over the adulterous act involving himself and a woman under his kindred.

According to the story, the herdsman when confronted, quite frankly acknowledged of having an sexual affair with the woman but denied knowledge of her marital status. However, the herdsman immediately offered the family, the sum of ₦100,000 particularly to the elderly man, but the man alongside his family  turned down the offer, insisting on seeking traditional redress through community laws thereby reporting to the community cheifs and elders.

The herdsman was furious and left the community but before doing so, he  instructed the woman to leave the community that an attack on the community was coming for daring to bring them to accountability over a private sexual affair. This was later revealed by the woman who had left, returned days later and whimpering in tears.

The woman kept mute and quietly left the village, instead of informing the villagers of the herdsman threat. As a result of her silence, there was no communual resistance. Thus on the new year's eve, the Fulani herdsman and his kins stormed the community at night, killing dozens including the husband, and father-in-law of the lady.

According to the story, her children were spared but her husband alongside other family/community members was targeted and killed by the Fulani killer herdsmen.

The source of this story, revealed that he would have also been a victim of the attack if not for divine providence that he was able to escape at the nick of time while the herdsmen were going door-to-door knocking, kicking down doors for slaughter. He was able to save himself and another child with minor injury and escaped to a nearby community.

The massacre continued until morning and the next day, the bodies of the victims were gathered. Many mutilated beyond recognition by machete, others body-ridden by bullets and were buried.

The sad, tragic incident ended with the tragic loss of lives of over a dozen villagers.

Nowithstanding, the controversial nature of this story, the question is whether it is the family and community who were justified for turning down the bribe and insisting on accountability cum justice over what  they considered abominable — and as such, too collosal to quietly resolved, or the herdsman who denied knowledge of the adulterous woman's marital status, applied for leniency through his financial offer, and further carried out mass annihilation of those seeking accountability from him. What must be agreed upon is that the very basis of relation between communities and the marauding herdsmen is parasitic and always turns out tragic for the host in the long run, even before the run commences.

This is why a movement like the Mazi Nnamdi Kanu led Indigenous People Of Biafra(IPOB) and the Eastern Security Network(ESN) are insistently assertive on the "No Accommodation" policy against the herders in the Eastern region, in opposition to those political circle who believe or argues for a controlled acceptance or even unbridled access into the mainstream of the region's forestery reserves and communities.

The Fulani killer herdsmen has proven over again that they are not bound by federal, state or even host community's laws. And as such, any association with them is an awaiting disaster to those who tolerates and allows it.
