In a major administrative update aimed at streamlining the global structure of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), the IPOB Directorate of State (DOS) has officially issued a formal reaffirmation and renewal of appointment to the movement’s longtime General Counsel, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor. The official document, signed by Mazi Chikaodibia Edoziem, Head of Directorate of State, updates the legal framework of the movement to match its current institutional realities.
According to the document obtained by Family Writers Press International, the renewal was necessitated by a profound restructuring within the global leadership of IPOB. The DOS clarified that the administrative landscape has evolved significantly since Ejiofor’s original appointment letter was drafted on May 2, 2017, which includes:
The dissolution of Signatory Offices: The offices of the "leader" and "deputy leader" that originally were among the signatories of the 2017 brief no longer exist within the current, active IPOB leadership framework.
To eliminate administrative gaps, the DOS has rendered the 2017 appointment letter null and void, immediately overriding it with this updated mandate.
The new appointment strictly ensures that Barrister Ejiofor's legal representation remains seamless, legally airtight, and completely unimpeded by structural changes.
The DOS highly lauded Barrister Ejiofor for his relentless commitment, bravery, and absolute dedication to defending the Biafran people. Particular emphasis was placed on his continued, untiring legal battles to secure the absolute freedom and release of innocent Biafran youths who have been illegally detained across various detention facilities by Nigerian state security agencies.
Through this official declaration, the IPOB Directorate of State firmly establishes that Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor retains the exclusive, institutional mandate as the General Legal Representative and General Counsel for IPOB globally
