Imo Attack: Not Perpetrated By IPOB Or Eastern Security Network

It is now glaringly clear that the Nigerian government and it's security apparatus are often desperately fanning the embers of disaffection and tension in the land rather than unbiasedly carrying out their constitutional obligations to the citizens. It is an act of irresponsibility, to hurriedly apportion blames on the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), for any act of insecurity in the South-East region. This is totally condemnable and unacceptable. IPOB is a well known freedom fighting organization globally, that is peacefully carrying out it's activities even in the face of destructive provocations. It has continued to conduct every activity with decorum and in accordance with the law. It has carved a niche for itself globally through it's comportment and this was humbly born out of dedication, resilience and obedience to divine mandate.

Recall that one of the Nigerian frontline media outlets, Channels Television, had earlier, in accordance with it's jaundiced and ridiculous antecedents, stated that "Nigeria's Inspector-General of Police, Alhaji Mohammed Adamu, accused the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the Eastern Security Network (ESN), of masterminding the attack that was carried out on the Imo prison facility". In a recent press statement released by IPOB Media and Publicity Secretary, Mazi Emma Powerful, strongly dismissed that false and totally misleading information hurriedly issued by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), on the early hours of Monday 5th April 2021.

Part of the released statement read: "IPOB and ESN are known groups, not unknown gunmen". Eastern Security Network (ESN) is in the bushes and forests, driving away Fulani killer terrorists that are parading themselves as herdsmen. It is therefore immoral to be linking IPOB and ESN to the attacks carried out in Owerri (Imo State) and Ukwuorji junction, Onitsha (Anambra State). Terror related attacks are completely out of the mandate and so, it is callous for anybody or institution to attribute such dastardly activities to IPOB.

* Do Political Gunmen Exist?

The ruling All Progressives Alliance (APC), definitely has a very important question to answer regarding series of unprecedented terror related activities that have been ongoing in the entire country. Prior to 2015 general election, it was stated by Mohammadu Buhari that APC will make Nigeria ungovernable should the then President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), got re-elected. In other words, the Fulani caliphate particularly, meant that Southerners will not have peace  unless power returns to and remains in the North. Since the agitation for self-determination by Biafrans commenced, there have been lots of human rights violations ranging from killing, raping, pillaging and abduction, by the Fulani oligarchical government. These  draconian measures have made many to come to the conclusion that the Presidency is desperately striving to orchestrate tension and mayhem across Biafraland. This . meant to serve as a leeway for them to advantageously amass importation of arms and ammunition from Britain, Pakistan and other Islamic nations into the land for easy execution of covert genocidal war against the people.

* The Theory Of Hypocrisy

In recent times, the Presidency has so irresponsibly looked the other way concerning insecurity in Biafraland and will hypocritically be in a hurry to authorize the deployment of troops to the region to harass and kill the innocent. The Nigerian government should  courageously tell the world all it knows concerning the gruesome and unwarranted killing of security personnel posted to the South-East. Whatever insecurity that has so lately been brought into the region should not be blamed on either IPOB or ESN, be it attacks on police stations or military checkpoints. Since over six years of operation, IPOB has remained peaceful in all it's activities till date. It is quite obvious that the Nigerian government does not go against the armed but the unarmed. Why?

How many times really has the Nigerian Inspector-General of Police publicly condemned the activities of his brethren that are despicably parading as Fulani killer herdsmen in Biafraland? Just a couple of days ago, over thirty persons were gruesomely murdered in cold blood by these marauding Islamic killers in Enugu and Ebonyi States respectively. Nothing consolatory has been done to douse tension. Alhaji Mohammad Adamu and his group are only interested in criminalizing Biafrans and hunting them down for acts they know nothing about. Presently, it is another rage against the innocent for the attack of the "Unknown Gunmen" on the Police Headquarters in Owerri (Imo State). This is hatred and discrimination taken to the limit which of course, will no longer be condoned.

It should be clearly noted that this press statement by the Police Inspector-General is not just only concocted but maliciously floated to paint the ongoing peaceful agitation for a sovereign Biafra nation in bad light.  But one thing remains certain. This misleading position and publication will never in anyway, deter the struggle for independence. The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), did not emerge to kill or usurp anybody but rather, to facilitate the unfettered liberation of the Biafran people from the shackles of slavery.

The job specification of the operatives of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), is not to go after politicians, police stations/military checkpoints but to ensure the cleansing of Biafra bushes, forests and farmlands, of Fulani killer herdsmen. These must be emphatically understood. The Nigerian government and it's security apparatus must be properly guided and getting enmeshed in shadow chasing.
