Abubakar Malami's Personal Hatred And It's Inconsequentiality

Few hours to the 26th of July 2021 trial of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu by the Nigerian government, after his kidnap from Kenya, his trial will commence in an Abuja based Federal High Court, as scheduled. In a statement, the Attorney General cum Minister of Justice of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Abubakar Malami, earlier stated that

"Nnamdi Kanu's case is going into another dimension as fresh charges shall be added to the already existing ones. What we are talking about here includes murder case, terrorism, banditry and criminality. Kanu committed a heinous crime that has not been recorded in this country before like ordering the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to be attacking and killing innocent Fulani cattle rearers that are only catering for their cows, killing innocent force personnel and so many other things that make up the new charges that will be added to the already existing ones. We have also passed a signal to all IPOB members that none of them should be seen around the court premises on the trial date of Nnamdi Kanu. We have concluded plans with the security agencies on how to deal with anyone who tries to ferment trouble on that day. We do not want to see anyone wearing IPOB T-shirt or cap near the court premises that day. The person entitled to be at the court is Nnamdi Kanu's and the Federal Government's lawyers and also some government officials. That is all. We do not want the court to be over crowded on that day."

First, I must state that in the law court, you are innocent until proven guilty. But the Minister of Justice has passed verdict even before the court proceedings by claiming that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu committed a heinous crime that has not been recorded in this country before like ordering IPOB to attack and kill innocent Fulani cattle rearers that are only catering for their cows, killing innocent force personnel, and so many other things that make up the new charges that will be added to the already existing ones. Coming to the Fulani cattle rearers that Abubakar Malami he mentioned, it is crystal clear that the Nigerian government and even the former Police Inspector-General, Adamu Muhammad, have forgotten too quick about both their statements on "the herdsmen being foreigners from other countries". It is also clear that they forgot the killings all over the country by the same Fulanis who they now claim to be innocent. And they equally forgot that self defense is never unconstitutional.

The Malami led judicial arm of the Nigerian government should help us define terrorism, banditry and criminality because since my life, I have noticed that the Nigerian definition of common terms have been totally opposite of the real generally accepted definitions. How can they illegally arrest the IPOB leader and at the same time tell IPOB not to be in the court during his trial and not to wear IPOB insignia? The quest to support the IPOB leader lies with the members of IPOB all over the world and their solidarity visit to the court is one of their fundamental rights. Even in the Nigerian constitution, there has never been any section concurring to such utterance from the Attorney General. Is IPOB's presence a fermentation of trouble or is a solidarity visit now trouble making in Nigeria? By the whole statement and accusations from the Nigerian government, it is very obvious that they do not really have any clue in what they are saying and this is why it completely holds no water.
