The London Meeting: Nigerians Need To Question Their Shameless Political Leaders

Recently, we were pounded with news of Nigerian political elites and presidential contenders gathering in London, in plain view of everyone entrapped in the Nigerian state. Nigerian news channels also led us to assume that the meeting was held to discuss how to make Nigeria a better place, and how to move the country ahead. The question is, why are you going to London to talk about Nigeria's governance? Is Nigeria still ruled indirectly by the British? What are they hiding from the citizens?

Now, upon his return from London, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike tells citizens at the airport that they were consulting on how to move Nigeria forward, telling those who wished to listen to their naive thoughts that a better Nigeria is what they want and that they had to consult with various parties involved. With this statement, it is clear that Nigerian citizens are merely slaves for Nigerian politicians, rather than stakeholders with whom they should engage in direct discussions. Citizens are merely a means to an end for these politicians political dynasties and God status, which is why they have used penury as a tool of oppression to maintain their evil rule and infamy.

These are the same politicians who are incapable of providing security to their respective states. The same politicians who cannot guarantee human safety across their states or a 10-hour power supply. These hypocritical leaders who travel to London to enjoy the beauty of a progressive nation and environment laced with humane laws, regulations, and security will still come down on their impoverished citizens and rule them into subjugation and penury.

Indeed, Nigerians need to question their political leaders.

What is it that these politicians cannot discuss with their citizens in Nigeria, but find comfort discussing with foreigners who have no business with Nigerians? These questions have not been raised by those campaigning for a unified Nigeria. Youths rallying across the states have deemed it unnecessary to demand an explanation for such heinous acts. Why is it that politicians only become accessible to citizens at political rallies?

One thing is certain: Nigeria is an enclosed border for modern slavery, and her political leaders are the whipping boys, while Downing Street London remains colonial militants. The only option is freedom, and it is not negotiable.
