IPOB Belgium Rejects Nnamdi Kanu’s Dissolution of DOS, Declares Full Support for Chikadibia Edoziem

In a strongly worded external memo, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Belgium chapter has firmly rejected what it describes as an alleged attempt by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to dissolve the Directorate of State (DOS), the movement’s highest decision-making body. The group has declared full support for the leadership of Mazi Chikadibia Edoziem and backed the suspension of Kanu from key positions.

The memo, issued by the Office of the National Coordinator and signed by Mazi Nnabude Francis, states that IPOB Belgium “strongly reject[s] the alleged dissolution of Directorate of State (DOS)” and opposes the inauguration of a 4th DOS administration by Kanu.

Key Positions Outlined in the Memo

1. Support for Current DOS Leadership: IPOB Belgium pledges “full support on the leadership of MAZI CHIKADIBIA EDOZIEM the head of IPOB directorate of state (DOS).”

2. Rejection of Kanu’s Actions: The chapter explicitly rejects Kanu’s inauguration of a new DOS administration.

3. Suspension of Supreme Leader Role: The group supports the suspension of the positions of Supreme Leader and Director of Radio Biafra previously held by Kanu.

4. Ownership of the Movement: IPOB Belgium asserts that “the Biafra movement is owned by the Biafran people, it is not owned by any individual,” arguing that Kanu therefore lacks the authority to dissolve the DOS.

5. Adherence to Structure and Discipline: The statement emphasizes that IPOB is a “well disciplined movement” with an established structure that all members must follow.

The chapter urged all Biafrans and supporters of the freedom struggle to “remain resolute” and rely exclusively on information from legitimate IPOB channels:

- Radio Biafra (IPOB Community Radio)

- Biafra TV

- Official memos bearing the official emblem of Biafra and duly signed by the Directorate of State (DOS) Press Secretary, Dr. C. Okadigbo

This development highlights ongoing internal tensions within the global IPOB structure regarding leadership authority, particularly the role and powers of its founder, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. The DOS has historically functioned as a central administrative and decision-making organ of the movement.

IPOB Belgium described itself as remaining “resolute and legitimate to the struggle” under the leadership of the DOS headed by Mazi Chikadibia Edoziem.

The full memo was released on 23 June 2026 and addressed to “Biafrans and the General Public.”
