IPOB Cote d'Ivoire Chapter Rejects Purported Dissolution of DOS, Pledges Full Support for Leadership of Mazi Chikadibia Edoziem
The entire executive council of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Cote d'Ivoire Chapter has declared its unwavering support for the global IPOB Directorate of State (DOS) led by Mazi Chikadibia Edoziem, firmly rejecting what it describes as misleading and fake information circulating on social media regarding the dissolution of the DOS.
In a strongly worded statement issued on Friday, the chapter called on all IPOB family members, Biafrans at home and in the diaspora, and supporters of freedom to disregard the purported dissolution announcements that began surfacing on social media platforms since June 17, 2026.
The statement reads in part: “The entire Executive of IPOB Cote d'Ivoire Chapter are solidly behind IPOB DOS worldwide, led by Mazi Chikadibia Edoziem. Therefore, we call on all IPOB family members, Biafrans both home and abroad and lovers of freedom, to ignore such misleading and fake information.”
The Cote d'Ivoire leadership noted that since the abduction of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, former leader and Director of Radio Biafra (now suspended), from Kenya and his subsequent illegal rendition to Nigeria, various criminal elements and enemies of the Biafran struggle have repeatedly attempted to exploit leadership positions to sow confusion within IPOB and among Biafrans worldwide.
The chapter commended the decisive action taken by the DOS leadership on June 18, 2026, describing it as a long-overdue step that aligns with the expectations of genuine members and even non-members who care about the movement’s progress.
“We commend the leadership DOS led by Mazi Chikadibia Edoziem and the entire members of Directorates of State of Indigenous People of Biafra for doing their job without fear, intimidation nor favour,” the statement said.
Emphasizing the core principles of the movement, the Cote d'Ivoire chapter reaffirmed that IPOB remains a non-violent self-determination organization anchored on peaceful advocacy for Biafran rights.
“It is the responsibility of this leadership to protect, save and defend Biafrans both home and abroad. IPOB is not a violent movement. IPOB is firmly founded and anchored on non-violence approach to demand for our right to self-determination,” the statement added.
The group expressed strong disagreement with any memos suggesting the dissolution of the first, second, or third DOS, describing such claims as “shameful and disgraceful” and urging that they be discarded.
“For us here, it’s shameful, disgraceful and should be thrown to the wastebasket,” the chapter declared.
Highlighting IPOB’s global standing, the statement noted that the organization is a recognized self-determination movement with presence in over one hundred countries and demanded respect for its constituted authority.
The Cote d'Ivoire executive renewed its pledge of loyalty to the established IPOB structure and urged the general public to verify all information through official channels only.
“We equally call on the general public to disregard every information that did not come from known IPOB official channels of communication like Radio Biafra, BTV Europe etc. Verify every information out there,” the statement concluded.
The position was signed by Mazi Chukwuebuka Okeke, National Coordinator, IPOB Cote d'Ivoire Chapter.
This latest development underscores ongoing internal efforts by IPOB structures to maintain unity and discipline amid external provocations and misinformation campaigns.
