IPOB USA Reaffirms Loyalty to DOS Leadership, Dismisses Rumors of “4th DOS” as “Biggest Joke of 2026

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) United States branch has issued a strong statement declaring unwavering loyalty to the Directorate of State (DOS) leadership headed by Mazi Chikadibia Edoziem and rejecting circulating social media rumors about the emergence of a so-called “4th DOS.”

In a communiqué signed by Mazi Chukwuemeka Alozie on behalf of the IPOB USA Mobilization Committee and dated June 24, 2026, the chapter emphasized its commitment to the ongoing institutionalization of IPOB as the foundation for sustainable progress toward Biafran self-determination.

“We remain intact and fully loyal to the DOS leadership structure headed by Mazi Chikadibia Edoziem,” the statement reads. “IPOB USA is committed to the institutionalization of IPOB as the foundation for lasting progress.”

The statement directly addresses what it describes as “false claims” and “rumors” concerning the appointment of a suspended former leader to head a purported new DOS faction. IPOB USA described such developments as “reckless and unacceptable,” noting that it is improper for a non-member of IPOB to be installed in the organization’s leadership body.

“This is the biggest joke of 2026,” the communiqué declared.

The group urged all IPOB members in the United States and Biafrans worldwide to disregard the rumors and those promoting them. It offered two core reasons for this position:

1.) IPOB is not a family business.

2.)  IPOB cannot be owned by one individual.

The statement reaffirmed that the hallmark of IPOB under the current DOS remains “peaceful self-determination.” IPOB USA expressed full support for the leadership and the institutionalization process, describing it as “the surest path to our freedom.”

The statement comes amid ongoing internal discussions and occasional public disagreements within the broader IPOB movement regarding leadership structure and direction. The DOS, established as a collective leadership body, has been positioned as a move toward institutionalizing the organization beyond any single personality.

IPOB USA’s firm endorsement of the Edoziem-led DOS underscores a continued emphasis on organizational discipline, collective leadership, and non-violent advocacy for Biafran independence. The chatper’s rejection of alternative factions highlights efforts to maintain unity within the international branches.
